During the decadent cabaret days of the Weimar Republic, Berlin was fertile ground for intellectuals, artists, and innovators from many fields. It also acquired something of a reputation as a hub of drug dealing and the black market. Art movements such as The November Group and Berlin Dada were part of the cultural explosion of artistic output that led to the Bauhaus formation. Then, darker days followed, with social and political upheaval leading to the outbreak of WW II. Add to this mix the Cold War's post-war espionage and the city's division by the wall, and you have a unique cultural melting pot. It attracted artists such as Bowie and U2 to work there, and it stills defines Berlin even today. This collection is my homage to one of the periods greats - Kurt Schwitters.
