Linda Green is a respected and established textile artist who has exhibited in Europe, Japan, the USA and widely in Britain.
Her work is unique and diverse, exploring and developing creative ideas through a range of textile materials and influences. Her interest in order and random processes are explored within her art practice. By taking inspiration from things as diverse as plant life, geometry and the Cosmos, she has covered a wealth of creative territory in her working life. From her initial creative concepts, Linda has a strong aesthetic sense and attention to detail which is evident in all her work, resulting in award-winning, extensive solo shows, invited group exhibitions to site-specific installation.
‘The relationship between loom and textile, hard and soft, tension and flexibility inspires me. Incorporating light, space and depth of field is paramount within my textiles. Making informs my drawing and drawing informs my making as work evolves. Drawing directly with material integrates idea and textile structure. The resulting works document information specific to a time or place.’
